Tapes for Multi Wall Polycarbonate Sheet Fabrication

The essential clarity of Multi-wall Polycarbonate Sheeting can only be retained if care is taken to exclude all dust particles, insects and moisture. Contamination by dust and moisture will soon lead to the growth of unsightly algae and moulds. The best protection is the use of a quality Breather tape, which allows full ventilation of all sections and channels of the polycarbonate sheeting.

Suits all sizes and designs of sheeting
Many designs of Polycarbonate Sheeting are now available and more complex sections are being developed. However we will fit and fully ventilate all sizes and designs of sheets, including those with very small internal sections.

Breathability
The unique composition of our Breather Tape allows free ventilation through the entire cross section of the open ends of the sheet, giving maximum breathability. Only a flow of air can aid the dispersal of moisture which otherwise can condense inside the channels and eventually allow unsightly moulds to flourish.

Water Escape
Site problems can sometimes result in water within the channels. With our Breather Tape water can easily exit from the entire cross section of the sheet end. Due to the design of a lot of our competitor's products, they do not allow the water to easily exit from the channel.

Dust Exclusion
The filter material used is a high quality, non-woven, point welded, tough fabric; this allows moisture and air to pass through, but also acts as an effective dust barrier.

Strength
The tape is made from especially strong material, which resists accidental site damage. It has the added advantage of making the sheet safe and easy to handle.

Ultra-Violet Resistance
The Breather Tape is resistant to Ultra Violet light and has a life expectancy greater than 20 years, when correctly fitted.

Fungicide Locked it
Unlike cheap tapes the filter component is treated with high quality fungicide to ensure continued effective filtration.

Adhesive
We use the very latest adhesive technology, developed especially for this tape. The adhesive we use is Thermoplastic Rubber resin and is a Polycarbonate friendly adhesive system.

Blanking Tapes

We have 2 types of blanking tape available:

1. Fabric material
2. Foil material

This tape is made from an exceptionally strong material, which means no accidental site damage. We also coat it across the width of the tape with the same adhesive system that we use for our Breather Tape - a Thermoplastic Rubber Resin Polycarbonate friendly adhesive system.

We coat our own foil tape with two different adhesive systems, which are both Polycarbonate friendly. The first is a Hot Melt Rubber Adhesive and the second is an Acrylic Adhesive System. We coat onto either 30 micron thick or 40 micron thick foil which are the two main products used in the Polycarbonate Industry Polycarbonate Industry.

Our foil is presented in two formats, either self-wound from the roll or linered with a paper release liner to protect the adhesive. It is normally down to operator preference how customers purchase the product.
